Review | Human Heart Nature's 100% Natural Deodorant

*Overdue post. >.< Sorry.
This is NOT a sponsored post.

I finally decided to write a review about these deodorants. Honestly, it took me a while before I posted this. I was a bit demotivated for the past days. I took these pics in mid July, but I was able to put some tags/watermarks/tweak these pics on late July. Unmotivated people highly procrastinate, I tell you >.<
<end of nonsense> Haha.
...
This is a review of the two variants: Aloe Fresh and Pink Blossom scents

Let's get into the review proper.
What: A roll-on deodorant (but not an antiperspirant).

Claim/s or Product description
"Discover nature’s safe solution against dark underarms! Have the confidence of having healthier, smoother, softer, lighter-looking underarms with the help of our non-darkening 100% Natural Deodorant! It’s got all-natural extracts and oils including our miracle sunflower oil that help banish body odor and dark underarms (HHN)."

"Why risk it? Many chemical antiperspirants contain aluminum salts that close pores to stop sweating. Studies have linked these and other ingredients (e.g. parabens) with health risks from neurotoxicity to reproductive problems.* Is it worth the risk? You decide! Our deo is not an antiperspirant but will protect you from body odor without harmful chemicals."

How to use: Use like you would a regular roll-on deodorant.

Pros
  • Natural product (uses natural ingredients).
  • From a local company and also Philippine made.
  • Affordable
  • Smells great. Sweet-smelling but not overly sweet.
  • Doesn't have a weird reaction to my underarm skin/sweat.
Cons
  • Comes in a plastic bottle. ATM they don't recycle the emptied bottles, so you end up with a lot of plastic container if you're the type of person who doesn't like throwing away plastic containers. I guess if they switch to a glass container, the product will cost more.
  • Since this is not an antiperspirant, it will not help you with perspiration control.

Personal experience
I first tried Pink Blossom late last year, around October. Truth is, at first I didn't like it (thinking it was an antiperspirant deo). Because I sweat a lot I became dependent with Old Spice, but it was making my underarms dark. After my first pregnancy, I was still left with super dark underarms and my previous deodorants/antiperspirants didn't help me with that issue, rather it made my skin look more awful. This is basically the reason why I searched for an alternative product. I searched online, and I stumbled on a few stories about "organic" or "natural" products. Then, I stumble with HHN products since my future sister-in-law became a dealer. Realizing that its not an antiperspirant, I was a bit disappointed but I continued using it anyway. I'm not the type who toss products when I don't like it at first use; I often give a second chance. Well, as they say natural/organic products should be used continuously for at least six months in order to see its full results/effectivity (citation needed). I forgot who exactly said this or where I've read this. If you have sensitive skin, I don't think its a good idea to stick to a product for six months, if at first use you already experienced irritation or a bad reaction. What if you get a bad product (e.g. expired, not suitable for your skin type), so there is always an exception to this (if it's true). Always do a skin test before applying a product to a major part of you skin/body. Better be safe than sorry, specially for those who have really sensitive skin.

Going back (sorry for blabbing too much), I was happy that I've given Pink Blossom a second chance because right now, I'm really loving it. My underarm skin is now softer, less chicken skinned, and is absolutely lighter than before I started using it. :-) I also noticed that I don't smell that bad compared with my previous deo. I mean if I happen to take a bath the following day, I don't smell that awful compared before. I also noticed that my sweat and the PB deo doesn't have a weird combination smell. With my previous deo, my sweat and the deo formulation equals a horrible smell. Ekkkk. Thank goodness, I found HHN's Pink Blossom deodorant, I don't worry about it now.

Recently HHN released a new variant of this deo, the Aloe Fresh scent (green). So I tried it, but I was a little bit disappointed. Hmmmm, I like the scent 'cos it smells natural on the skin but I think there something in it that my skin do not like. I mean I get a bit smelly at the end of the day with Aloe Fresh, but with Pink Blossom it doesn't happen to me at all. Weird. When I checked their ingredient (almost identical but there is one thing they differ at), I found out that Pink Blossom actually has an Aloe Vera leaf juice extract than the Aloe Fresh scent variant (please refer to ingredients)! Why is that...? I thought it was the Aloe Vera scent variant that has the aloe vera extract but it turned out it hasn't! Hmmm, could this be the reason why I like Pink Blossom more than Aloe Fresh? Could be.

Would I repurchase/recommend?
Yes, I will definitely repurchase (I'm onto my second bottle of Pink Blossom) and recommend this to everybody to try out! Try each of them if you like natural deodorants.
