DIY (Skincare): Olive Oil, Honey and Sugar (Part 2 of 2)

Hello!
Today I am going to share my current favorite DIY skincare recipes.
I hope you will find these useful, and would give it a try if you're still not familiar with any of these DIYs.

Click on the link above to read a short introduction about these ingredients if you want to know their skincare benefits.

*Here are the recipes/instructions:

Olive oil moisturizer and/or makeup remover.
1. Soak a cotton ball or cotton pad with olive oil before cleansing your face.
2. Gently massage this onto your face and neck to remove traces of makeup ~2-3 minutes or until your makeup is thoroughly removed. Concentrate onto your eye area, especially if you wear heavy eye makeup (but please avoid rubbing and putting on too much pressure on your delicate eye area to prevent premature wrinkles).
3. Next, wash your face as you normally would.
4. Then with another cotton ball/pad get a small amount (~2 drops) of olive oil and use it as your moisturizer.

Olive oil and honey mask
1. Mix 2 1/2 tablespoon of honey with 1 to 1 1/2 teaspoon of olive oil, or until you reach your desired mask consistency.
2. Apply on your face for 10-15 minutes. You can also put this on other parts of your body such as your elbows, knees, and feet (basically anywhere on your body that you feel needs extra moisurization).
3. Wash off thoroughly.
4. Follow with your favorite face moisturizer, and body lotion.

Olive oil and Brown sugar face scrub
1. Mix 1/2 tablespoon of   brown sugar with 1/2 teaspoon of olive oil.
2. Gently massage this for about 2-3 minutes, or until you feel the sugar bits have dissolved (for drier skin types). For sensitive skin types please be more gentle, and don't scrub too much!
3. Wash off completely.
4. follow with your favorite moisturizer.

Brown sugar lip and body scrub
For lip scrub, mix according to your preference.
1. I use 1-2 drops of olive oil mixed with a pinch of brown sugar.
2. After bathing, scrub this onto your lips to remove dry, chapped skin.
3. Follow with your favorite lip essence/conditioner/balm to seal in moisture and protect your lips.

For body scrub, you can use both olive oil and brown sugar (recommended for drier skin types), or use brown sugar alone (normal skin type).

I don't always use this as a body scrub. Instead, I love using brown sugar alone as a hand scrub especially after doing the laundry or the dishes.

To use brown sugar as a hand scrub:
1. Was your hands thoroughly after doing the laundry or dishes. If your hand is dry, wet it first so the sugar bits will stick on your hands.
2. Apply 1-2 tablespoon of brown sugar onto your hands, gently massaging onto your skin.
3. Massage in a manner similar to that of properly washing one's hands. Also scrub near the base of your hands, and focus more on the drier, or callused areas.
4. Continue massaging your hands until most of the sugar bits have melted.
5. Wash it off thoroughly.
6. Follow with a moisturizing hand cream/lotion.
7. (Optional) If you're using this at night/ before bed time, it's best to wear hand gloves to achieve softer skin the next day! And you can also use the same technique on your feet just use socks of course. >.<

Olive oil, honey and brown sugar body scrub
Combining all three for maximum exfoliation, and mosturization effect!
1. Mix 2-4 tablespoon of brown sugar, 1 teaspoon olive oil, and 2 tablespoon honey. Mix well or until you achieve your desired consistency.
2. Use as a body scrub before after bathing or showering.
3. Wash it off well.
4. Follow with your favorite body lotion.

*Adjust these recipes according to your skin type.
For reference, I have normal to dry skin type.
Please, use at your own risk.

As always, thanks for reading! :-)
